Dorothy H. Ours, 88, of Elmcroft at Chippewa, formerly of Daugherty Township, died Friday, June 13, 2008, in The Medical Center, Beaver.

Born March 21, 1920, in New Brighton, she was the daughter of the late Fred Van Lear and Marie Roth Van Lear. She was a member of the Chippewa United Methodist Church and a former member of the First United Methodist Church of New Brighton. She had been a volunteer for the United Way, Mental Health Association of Beaver County, and Meals on Wheels.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J. Thomas Ours, in 1995; an infant brother, Richard Van Lear, and a brother, Charles Van Lear.

She is survived by a sister-in-law, Betty Van Lear, Brighton Township, and two very close and dear friends, Darlene and Richard Albanese, Daugherty Township.

Friends will be received on Monday from 2 until 6 p.m. in the HILL & KUNSELMAN FUNERAL HOME, www.hillandkunselman.com, 3801 Fourth Ave., College Hill, Beaver Falls, where a service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday with her pastor, the Rev. Rodney E. Smith, officiating.

Private interment will follow in Sylvania Hill Cemetery, Daugherty Township.
