Edward J. Powers, 90, of  Enon Valley, and formerly of Brooklyn, NY, died Friday July, 16, 2010 in Katera’s Kove Nursing Home. 

Born November 7, 1919 in New York City,  NY was the son of the late Edward & Marie (Deegan) Powers.  He was a U.S. Marine servicing having serving during WWII,  retired from Mohegan International Shipping as an office manager, and was a Roman Catholic.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Martha ( Loula) Powers.

He is survived by two sons and & daughters-in-law, Edward Powers & Dora Clavell-Powers, Enon Valley; Dennis & Patricia Powers, Long Island, NY; a daughter and son-in-law, Martha & Kelly Hipkens, Buffalo, NY and a daughter, Louise MacManus, Ketichan, Alaska; two sisters Albertine & Marie; eleven grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Private visitation will be  Monday for the family, with a Blessing Service following conducted by Rev. Fr. James B. Farnan.

Members of the Veterans Honor Guard will provide Military Honors at  the Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Monday.
