Emery Lee “Poopsie” Nesmith, Sr, 79, of Beaver Falls died Thursday June 19, 2008 in the Medical Center Beaver.
Born February 2, 1929 in Andrews, South Carolina, was the son of the late Leanda & Elizabeth ( Scott) Nesmith, he was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church, Beaver Falls, retired from Pittsburgh Tube Company, and loved fishing and gardening.
He is survived by his wife of 13 years Dorothy Jean “ Dottie” ( Underwood) Nesmith, his children, Emery Nesmith, Jr ; Boston, Mass.; Ruth Ann Nesmith; Alice Caracter; Richard & Roxanne Nesmith all of Beaver Falls; Robert & Genoria “ Gee Gee” Nesmith; Lorraine & Donald “ Pete” Pearson; Velentia & Christopher Pipkin, all of New Brighton; Stephanie Tisdale, Steubenville, OH; Mark Nesmith, Sycamore Creek, Coraopolis; and a adopted son Joseph Cleckley, Beaver Falls; Stepchildren, Russell & Anita Underwood, Beaver Falls, Christopher Howard, Ellwood City; and Anthony & Debbie Howard, New Castle; Taii-Ko Howard, Indiana: a special granddaughter
Ka-Liyah Dillingham, Beaver Falls, 23 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren. Three brothers Alex Nesmith, New Brighton; Raymond Nesmith, Beaver Falls and Paul Nesmith, Andrews SC. And a host of nieces & nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Dennis Edward Nesmith; four sisters Laura Darby, Flora Pearl Tisdal, Orrie McKnight and Carrie Tisdal; and two brothers Jacob Nesmith and Nehemal ( Wilbert) Nesmith.

A service will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 AM in the Tabernacle Baptist Church, 630-3rd Avenue, with his pastor the Rev. Calvin Brown officiating.
