Kathryne C. “Kay” Fisher, 85, of Chippewa Township, died Saturday, July 28, 2012 in the Beaver Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, South Beaver Twp.
Born May 12, 1927 in New Brighton, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Anna Kenneweg Casassa. She was a graduate of Beaver Falls High School, Class of 1945 and had been employed for 20 years with the Bell Telephone Company. She was an active member of Trinity Church in Beaver where she had served on the Altar Guild, ECW, and had served on the ECW Diocese of Pittsburgh Board of Directors. She has been a volunteer at the hospital and visited shut-ins. She volunteered for 30 years with Meal on Wheels on College Hill, a member of the New Century Club, former member of the auxiliary to the Beaver Falls Salvation Army, NARVA, Cool Cats and the Early Birds Bowling League, and had served on the Chippewa Township Board of Elections. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband George Moore and her second husband William J. Fisher in 1996, her step-daughter Patricia Humbert, and her three brothers, Albert, Fred, and her twin Kenneth Casassa. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, William F. and Elizabeth Fisher, Katy, TX, five grandchildren, John William Fisher, Annie Louise Fisher, both of Katy, TX, Harry Humbert and his wife Linda, Crownsville, MD, Vivian Valentine and her husband Bob, Beaver, and Jean Yoho, Bright, IN, four great-grandchildren, J.T. Portman and his wife Angie, Kaila Simpson, Jerred Wernke, and Karen Humbert, and two great-great-grandchildren, Alyson and Taylor Portman, two sisters-in-law, Janet Casassa, Seattle, WA, and Rosalie Casassa, and a foster sister Margaret “Peg” Tenney, Mesa, AZ. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Hill & Kunselman Funeral Home, www.hillandkunselman.com., 3801-4th Ave, College Hill, Beaver Falls. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Trinity Church, 370 Beaver Street, Beaver, PA with her pastor, Father Scott T. Homer officiating. Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Cemetery.
