Florence L. Harris, 88, of Franciscan Manor, went to be with her Lord Thursday, February 2, 2012.
Born April 2, 1923 in Beaver Falls, she was the daughter of the late Ira C. and Elizabeth Viola Myers Emerick. A talented vocalist and pianist, Florence was the recipient of a Julliard scholarship. At the age of 12 she sang at her first wedding and continued singing throughout her life; she was often heard on radio waves, in church choirs, and many special events. She was an active member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Beaver, a member of ECW, New Century Club, and a 27 year volunteer for Meals on Wheels on College Hill. Florence was recently made an honorary Lifetime Member of the Salvation Army.
She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth W. Harris in 1996, a son Kenneth W. Harris, II, and two sisters, Grace Owen and Lois Pietsch.
She is survived by three daughters, Jo-Nell Wetsch (Arnold), Fifty Lakes, MN and Phoenix, AZ; Donna Tillmann (Johan), Henderson, NV;  Nancy Harris (Jack Papson)Wexford, PA; a daughter-in-law Jacqueline Harris, Palm Beach, FL; a sister, Ruth Carothers, Patterson Heights, PA; nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received on Monday, February 6 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Hill & Kunselman Funeral Home, 3801 4th Ave., College Hill, Beaver Falls. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 7 at 11:00 a.m. at Hill & Kunselman Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Sylvania Hills Mausoleum, Daugherty Township.
The family would like to thank the staff at Franciscan Manor, Dr. Jackson, Odyssey Hospice, and special friends Kelly Brent and Nancy Tyger, for their love and support.
