Irene J. Amon, 96, of Chippewa Township, formerly of College Hill, died Wednesday, July 21, 2010 in the Beaver Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born June 23, 1914 in Beaver Falls, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Minnie Rutter. She was a homemaker and an active member of the College Hill United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Amon in 1988, a granddaughter Diana Richards, a sister Velma M. “Peg” Neely, and two brothers, John and Robert Rutter, and a daughter-in-law, Donna Amon.
She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, John “Jack” Amon, South Beaver Township, Ronald and Patty Amon, Youngsville, PA, four grandchildren, David Amon, New Castle, Mrs. Dan (Lueann) Capo, Patterson Township, Mrs. Eric (Christy) Carlson, Jamestown, New York, Steven Amon, Michigan, two great-grandsons, Change and Gage Amon, and a sister-in-law, Ruth Rutter, North Carolina.
There will be no public visitation.
A committal service will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. in the Beaver Falls Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel, 2045 Darlington Road, Chippewa Township, with her pastor, the Rev. Gregory Cox officiating.
Interment will follow in the Beaver Falls Cemetery.
