     Jack L. Balmer, 80, of Beaver Falls, died Tuesday, July 15, 2008 in the Medical Center Beaver.
      Born Sept. 17, 1927 in Beaver Falls, he was the son of the late Karol Balmer Sr. and Marie Hodge Balmer.  He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Beaver, a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during World War II.  He had retired a Fire Chief of the Beaver Falls Fire Department in 1982 with 34 years of service.  He had also been active in Circle of Friends in Beaver Falls.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Nancy V. Balmer on Oct. 12, 2001, a brother Karol Balmer, Jr., and two sisters  Virginia C. Hall and Delores Balmer.
     He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jacqueline and Adam Fondrk, North Sewickley Township, a son and daughter-in-law, Gregory and Jolene Balmer, Chippewa Township, five grandchildren, Brett Fondrk, Travis Fondrk,  Matthew Fondrk,  Leah Balmer, and Lucas Balmer.
    Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to  4 and  6 to 8 p.m. in the Hill & Kunselman Funeral Home, www.hillandkunselman.com.,  3801-4th Ave., College Hill, Beaver Falls.  The service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. in the Funeral Home, The Rev. Carl C. Neely will officiate.
  Interment to follow in Grandview Cemetery, Big Beaver.
