Jean E. Crowl, 96, formerly of Chippewa Twp. and New Castle, passed away Tues., December 21, 2010, in Friendship Ridge.
Born April 21, 1914, in New Brighton, was a daughter of the late Samuel Edward and C. Esther (Mathier) Crowl. She retired after 42 years as an Office Manager and Secretary for the former Sahli Motors in Beaver Falls. She was a member of New Brighton Presbyterian Church, where she was a Sunday School Teacher and served on various boards. Jean was very active in many professional organizations, the Fort McIntosh Chapter of the DAR, BPW and Outlook Club, both of Beaver Falls, the Century Club of New Brighton, Quota Club in Beaver and the Beaver County Historical Society. She was a 1931 graduate of New Brighton High School.
Jean was a very caring person. She cared for her Mother for many years, while living in Chippewa Twp. Then, moving to North Point Drive, New Castle, PA, to care for her sister. In recent months she resided at Cambridge Village, Beaver Falls.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Francelia C. Garrett, 2008.
Surviving is her nephew, John C. & Marilyn Garrett, North Port, FL; nieces, Jeanne (Garrett) & Robert Wushinske, New Wilmington, PA and Nancy (Garrett) McFarland, Beaver Falls; and great nephews, Chad & Apryl Garrett, Allison Park, PA and Matthew & Mandy Wushinske, Fredericktown, OH; great nieces, Kelly & Frank D’Eramo, Beaver Falls, Megan Garrett, Holt, MI and Heidi (Wushinske) & Christian McComas, Philadelphia, PA; two great-great nephews and two great-great nieces.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 11 a.m. till the time of services at 1:00 p.m. in the HILL AND KUNSELMAN FUNERAL HOME, www.hillandkunselman.com , 3801 Fourth Avenue, College Hill, Beaver Falls, Pastor Bruce Backensto will officiate.
Private interment will be in Beaver Falls Cemetery.
