Josephine Snyder Groff, 92, of Chippewa Township, died peacefully in her sleep, on Friday, September 10, 2010 in her home.

      Born Oct. 30, 1917 in Markleton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Florence Hogan Snyder.  She was a member of the Chippewa United Methodist Church, had retired as a reading supervisor in the Big Beaver Falls Area School District.  Prior to being a reading supervisor, she had taught in the former Fifth Avenue Elementary School in Beaver Falls.

    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Charles D. Groff on Nov. 16, 2004.

                Friends will be received Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. in the Chippewa United Methodist Church with her pastor, Rev. Rodney E. Smith officiating.

             Entombment will follow in the Allegheny Cemetery Mausoleum, Butler Street, Pittsburgh, PA.

           In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, if desired to the Chippewa United Methodist Church, 2545 Darlington Road, Beaver Falls, PA 15010.
