John J. DeCianno, 79, of McDonald, Ohio, formerly of Chippewa Township and Florida, died Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010 in the Manor Care Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Fairfax, VA.
Born April 9, 1930 in Beaver Falls, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Amelia DeMatteo DeCianno. He was a former member of St. Philomena Catholic Parish and had retired from Babcock & Wilcox Tubular Products Company in 1983 from the carpenter shop. He had been a member of the Beaver Falls Sons of Italy and the Wolves Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Elvira DeCianno.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn “Joann” Hupp DeCianno, Austintown, OH, a son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Jody DeCianno, South Riding, Va, three granddaughters, Jessica, Gina, and Becca DeCianno, a brother, Eugene DeCianno, Columbiana, OH, three sisters and a brother-in-law, Lucia Ostrom, Baden, Delia and John Leopardo, North Sewickley Township, and Mary Jerome, East Palestine, OH.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Hill & Kunselman Funeral Home, www.hillandkunselman.com., 3801-4th Ave., College Hill, Beaver Falls, where prayers will be recited on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Philomena Parish on College Hill with Rev. Father James B. Farnan as celebrant.
