John A. “Jack” DeRose, 82, of Beaver Falls, died Friday, May 22, 2009 in the Medical Center Beaver.
     Born Feb. 2, 1927 in Beaver Falls, he was the son of the late Frank and Catherine Alquin DeRose.  He was a very active member and an usher at the Divine Mercy Parish.  He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Beaver Falls American Legion, Post 261.  He had retired as head of maintenance from the Big Beaver Falls Area School District with over 30 years of service,  past president of the Beaver Falls Football Boosters and was an avid supporter of the McGuire Memorial Home.          
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Dorothy Palka DeRose in 1996, a brother Ernie DeRose, a sister Marguerite DeAngelo, and his son-in-law, James “Mickey” Connolly.
        He is survived by his wife Ruth Ross Lipan DeRose, six daughters and their husbands, Kathy DeRose, Mount Lebanon, Sandy and Eugene Kuglics, Brighton Township, Carol DeRose, New Brighton, Judith and John Troyano, Palm Coast, FL, Mary Lu Connolly, Toronto, OH, Donna DeRose, Philadelphia, a son Thomas DeRose and his fiancé Heather, Cranberry Township, a step-daughter and her husband Kathy and Thomas Borghi, Beaver Falls, seven grandchildren and their spouses, Rob Berger, Dawn and Dan Cardone, Jason Kuglics, Jodi Scarvalone, Maria and Paul  Davino, Jennifer and Nick Giles, Nicole and Tim Thomas, four great-grandchildren, Emma and Ava Cardone, and Timothy and Maura Thomas, three brothers and sisters-in-law,   Louis and Betty DeRose, New Brighton, Pat and Alicia DeRose, Carlsbad, CA, Ed and Jo DeRose, Chippewa Township, a sister, Alice Allison, Las Plores, CA, and several nieces and nephews.
            Friends will be received today from  6 to 8 p.m. and on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Hill & Kunselman Funeral Home, www.hillandkunselman.com., 3801-4th Ave., College Hill, Beaver Falls, where prayers will be recited on Tuesday at 9:20 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Divine Mercy Parish, St. Mary Church.
    Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.

The Veterans Honor Guard will meet at the cemetery at 11 a.m. on Tuesday.
