June E. Hacker, 87, of the Avalon Nursing Care in New Castle, formerly of Ellwood City, died Thursday, July 9, 2009.
Born January 11, 1922, in New Market, VA, she was the daughter of the late Shirley and Lelia Spitzer Smith. She was a Methodist and had been employed as a nurse's aide at the former New Brighton General Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Hacker; a daughter-in-law, Patsie Hacker; two grandsons, Mark and Curtis Trautvetter; a brother, Wayne Smith, and a sister, Rene Welsh.
She is survived by her five children, a daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and David Taylor, South Beaver Township; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Marlea Hacker, East Palestine, OH; a son, Dennis Hacker, Enon Valley; a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Patricia Hacker, Winter Haven, FL, and a daughter, Frances Morgan, Fayetteville, NC; 13 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received Saturday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the HILL & KUNSELMAN FUNERAL HOME, www.hillandkunselman.com, 3801 Fourth Ave., College Hill, Beaver Falls, where a service will be held on Sunday at 1 p.m. The Rev. Rodney E. Smith, pastor of the Chippewa United Methodist Church, will officiate.
Private interment will be in Grandview Cemetery.
