Lester Goddard, 100, of Friendship Ridge, went to be with his Lord, on Saturday, July 28, 2007. Born Oct. 19, 1906, in Charleston, W.Va., he was a son of the late Charles and Nancy Kinder Goddard. Lester had retired from Standard Horsenail in 1971 after 25 years of service. He was a member of the Beaver Valley Club of Retired Persons for many years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Everard Goddard, in 1984; his son-in-law, George L. Britton; five brothers, Ernest, Lloyd, James, Clifford and infant, Charles Goddard, and four sisters, Edith Zachewicz, Ruth Emmel, Emma Thatcher and Dorothy Statton.

He is survived by his devoted daughter, Virginia "Ginger" M. Britton, Chippewa Township; four grandchildren, George R. Britton, Kannapolis, N.C.; Debra and Merle Waddingham, Findlay, Ohio; Darlene and Neal Murray, Boca Raton, Fla., and Donna and Daniel Perez, Kannapolis, N.C.; four great-grandchildren, Michael Waddingham, Michelle Waddingham and her fiancé Paul Ridley, Bryan Britton, and Caitlin Murray; a brother, Fred Goddard, Brighton Township; a sister, Ida Merriman, Beaver Falls, and a foster brother, Joseph Smith.

Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 6 p.m. in the HILL & KUNSELMAN FUNERAL HOME, 3801 Fourth Ave., College Hill, Beaver Falls, and on Friday from noon until the time of funeral service at 1 p.m. with his nephew, Pastor Eugene McConnell of the Union Goodwill Community Church, officiating.

Private interment will be in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Daugherty Township.

Memorial contributions may be made, if desired, to Friendship Ridge, 246 Friendship Circle, Beaver, Pa. 15009.

The family would like to extend a gracious thank you to the Rev. Donald MacNeil for his faithful ministering, visiting, and friendship with Lester over the years.

The family would also like to thank the nurses, the aides, and the entire staff at Friendship Ridge, for the excellent care given to Lester. Their dedication and compassion are sincerely appreciated. They would also like to thank those family members whose faithful and regular visits meant so much to Lester. Also deserving of recognition are the residents of Friendship Ridge and their families who became our extended family during this difficult time.

The Beaver Valley Club of Retired Persons will conduct a service Thursday at 4 p.m. in the funeral home.
