John Paul McCracken, known as Paul or J. Paul, was born on December 27, 1929 in New Castle, PA to Paul Delo and Myra Edgar McCracken. He died on July 17, 2012 in Pittsburgh, PA, at the age of 82.
Paul lived in Rosepoint, PA and Topeka, KS, graduating from Topeka High School in 1946, from Geneva College in 1951, and from the Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary in 1954. He pastored congregations of the Reformed Presbyterian Church of North America in Eastvale, PA; Cambridge, MA; Westminster, CO; and Colorado Springs, CO.
He married Frances M. Gilchrist of Greeley, CO in 1953. They have been married 59 years (as of 6/4/12).
Paul is survived by his wife, Frances McCracken of Pittsburgh, PA; brother Robert (& Mary Lynn) McCracken of Columbus, IN; sister-in-law Mary McCracken of Orlando, FL; sister Mary (& Wayne) Spear of Gibsonia, PA; daughter Cheryl (& Bob) Hemphill of Laramie, WY; son Herb (& Patty) McCracken of Beaver Falls, PA; and daughter Jill (& Keith) Mann of Colorado Springs, CO; 15 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Hill and Kunselman Funeral Home in Beaver Falls, PA. Memorial service is Friday, July 27, at 7:00 p.m. at College Hill Reformed Presbyterian Church, 3217 College Avenue, Beaver Falls, PA. Attenders may greet the family downstairs before the service from 5:00 – 6:30 and also following the service.
If memorial contributions are desired, the family requests that they be given to The Reformed Presbyterian Home, RPTS or Geneva College.
