Michael J. Pagani, Sr., 84, of New Galilee, died Saturday, May 17, 2008 in Shadyside Hospital.
Born May 25, 1923 in New Galilee, he was the son of the late Abbondio and Josephine Clerici Pagani. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and served in the European Theater. He was a former Postmaster of the New Galilee Post Office from 1946 until his retirement on Jan. 7, 1983 and was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. Mike loved to spend time with his late wife Rita, his children, grandchildren, and his twin great-granddaughters. He also enjoyed working on automobiles in his spare time.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years Rita A. Verdecchia Pagani on June 16, 2001, an infant brother Battista, his sister Rose Guzzetti, and two brothers Frank and Samuel Pagani.
He is survived by a daughter Kathleen J. Pagani, Ledyard, Conn., a son Michael J. Pagani, Jr., South Beaver Township, three grandchildren Charlotte Troyanowski and her husband Peter Shippy, Boston, Mass., Michael J. Pagani, III and Matthew J. Pagani, both of East Palestine, OH, twin great-granddaughters Stella and Beatrix Troyanowski, Boston, MA, and his twin sister Mary L. Pagani, New Galilee.
Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Hill & Kunselman Funeral Home, www.hillandkunselman.com., 3801-4th Avenue, College Hill, Beaver Falls, where a prayers will be recited on Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church with the Rev. Father James B. Krah as celebrant.
Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Chippewa Township.
The Beaver County Special Unit will meet at the cemetery on Tuesday at 10:50 a.m. to conduct full military rites.
