Virginia A. Monit

Virginia A. Monit, 86, of the Providence Care Center, Beaver Falls, died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2007, in The Medical Center, Beaver.


Born Feb. 4, 1920, in Rochester, a daughter of the late William and Minnie Thompson Hermann, she was a member of the First Congregational Church and was a former member of the Women's Society of the First United Methodist Church, both of Beaver Falls.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Robert D. and Margaret Monit, Beaver; a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Jere Kohlmann, Big Beaver; five grandchildren and their spouses, Scott and Lisa Monit, Brooke and Robert Bickerton, Sue Ellen and Todd Wagner, Jeff and Pam Kohlmann, Mark and Lisa Kohlmann; 11 great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Jensen, Zachary, Emily, Sydney, Jonathan, Matthew, Spencer, Michael, Matthew, and Victoria, and two sisters-in-law, Deloris Monit, in Florida, and Dena Campbell, Beaver Falls.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Chester S. Monit, on Oct. 9, 1997; a great-granddaughter, Brittany Turkovich; two brothers, William C. and John T. Hermann; two sisters, Vera Hermann and Helen Cunning, and a sister-in-law, Ann Hermann.

Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the HILL & KUNSELMAN FUNERAL HOME, www.hillandkunselman.com, 3801 Fourth Ave., College Hill, Beaver Falls, where a service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday with the Rev. Frank Garlathy, pastor of the Rochester United Methodist Church officiating.

Private interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Big Beaver.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, if desired, to the First Congregational Church, 1024 4th Ave., Beaver Falls, Pa. 15010 or to a charity of choice.
