Raymond J. Thompson, 71, of Patterson Township, went to be with the Lord on Sunday,
April 11, 2010.
Born March 12, 1939 in Beaver Falls, he was the son of the late Douglass and Dorothy Snyder Thompson. He was a member of Chippewa Evangelical Free Church, had a musical ministry at the Beaver Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and also at Elmcroft of Chippewa. He had been employed at the former Babcock & Wilcox Tubular Products Company as a printer and a scheduler for 29 years. He was also employed at the Medical Center Beaver as a printer and a security officer before his retirement. He was active in chalk artistry for 15 years.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years Karen Staneart Thompson, a son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Amy Thompson, Chippewa Township, a daughter and son-in-law, Lori and William Neely, Darlington Township, seven grandchildren, Sierra Thompson, Alivia Thompson, Lucas Thompson, Christopher Neely, Mrs. Jake (Christy Jo) Neely Lee, Corey Neely, and Annie Neely, four great-grandchildren, two brothers, Douglass Thompson, Jr., Patterson Township, and Ronald Thompson, Bloomington IN one of his triplet brothers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his other triplet brother Richard Thompson.
Friends will be received today from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Hill & Kunselman Funeral Home, www.hillandkunselman.com., 3801-4th Ave., College Hill, Beaver Falls. There will be an additional visitation on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at 10 a.m. in the Chippewa Evangelical Free Church, 239 Braun Road, Chippewa Township, with his pastor, Rev. Ed Walsh officiating.
