Richard "Dick"  H. Jones, 80, of Copeland Oaks Retirement Community, Sebring OH and formerly of Patterson Heights, died Friday October 12, 2007 in the Alliance Community Hospital, Alliance OH..

Born July 31, 1927, in Beaver Falls was the son of the late Harry & Helen ( Romigh) Jones he was a devoted himself to his family and to serving others, served as a Merchant Marine during WWII, retired from Babcock & Wilcox Beaver Falls Plant as a tool & dye maker after 38 years of service. A member of the Riverview United Methodist Church, and affiliated member of the Sebring United Methodist Church,  Past President of Butler District and Western PA Conference United Methodist Men served two years with his wife as home missionaries at Henderson Settlement in Frakes, KY.,  former member of Patterson Heights Borough Council 1990-2000, Paterson Township Commissioner 1968-1976, and was responsible for the building of the Patterson Township Community Park, received a Special Citizen Award in 2004 from Patterson Township, member of Patterson Heights volunteer fire department from 1990-2002, was a registered scout for 50 years with the Boy Scouts of America, former leader of Troop 447 in Patterson Township, served on district and Council committees, received the Silver Beaver, Cross & Flame, and Torch Award and was a committee member of Troop 481.  A Past Master of Parian Lodge F & AM No. 662, former board member  Beaver Falls Masonic Temple Association,  Past high priest of Eureka Chapter 167 R.A.M;  past commander Nights Templar,  KYCH;  Beaver Valley Knight’s Templar Commandery 84 and past Thrice Illustrious Council No. 54 R & S.M., Scottish Rite-Valley of New Castle, MSA and Consistory Legion of Honor, Golden Triangle York Rite College No. 32, Council of Anointed Kings and received on of the first Bro. Daniel Cater Beard Masonic Scouting Awards in Pennsylvania .


Surviving are three children the Rev. Warren Jones and his wife Nancy, of Lower Burrell, PA; the Rev. Sandra Hutchinson and her husband Rev. Ken Hutchinson of Canal Fulton, OH; and Jeffery and his wife Lucia of Beaver Falls, five grandchildren Matthew, and his wife Leandra Hutchinson, Drew and Travis Hutchinson, Justilynn & Nikki Jones, and four sisters Mrs. Lois ( Jerry) McCann, New Brighton, Mrs. Dorothy ( Buddy) Johnson, Morrow, Georgia; Mrs. Marjorie ( John) Hicks, Darlington; and Mrs. Janet ( Robert) Holiday, Beaver Falls.

In  addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years G. Louise (Tigner) Jones on Sept. 19, 2004, a sister Hazel Klink, three brothers  Edward Jones, Louis R. Jones,  and Paul Jones.

Friends will be received  Monday   from 2-4 & 6-9  in the Hill & Kunselman Funeral Home, 3801-4th Avenue, College Hill, Beaver Falls.  Mr. Jones will lie in state Tuesday from 10:00   AM until time of service at11;00  AM in the Riverview United Methodist Church, 1099 Darlington Road, Beaver Falls.  His Pastor the Rev. James Parkinson officiating.

Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Big Beaver Boro.

Members of Parian Lodge No. 662 will conduct a service Monday at  7:00PM in the funeral home.

There will be a Scouting Service Monday at 8:45PM  in the funeral home.

Member of the Veteran’s Honor Guard  will meet Tuesday at12:15 PM  at Grandview Cemetery to provided full military honors.
