Richard Thellman

        Richard E. Thellman, 67, of West Mayfield, passed away on Monday, April 23, 2007 in the Medical Center Beaver.

        Born Feb. 25, 1940 in West Mayfield, he was the son of the late Daniel and Regina Untch Thellman.  He had retired from the former Babcock & Wilcox Tubular Products Co. where he had been in the Production Control Department for 23 years.  He was a member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church where he had served as an elder and had taught Sunday school for many years. Rich had also been a Catechism teacher at the former St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church on College Hill and had coached Little League baseball in West Mayfield.

           In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers,  Steven Thellman, killed in action in World War II,  and Daniel Thellman.

          He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Loretta McDonald Thellman,  a daughter and son-in-law,  Carrie and Randy Burnell, Ellport,  three sons and daughters-in-law,   Steven and Wendy, Gainesville, GA,  Bradley and Susan Thellman,  Conyers, GA,  Gregory and Lidija Thellman, Croatia,       12 grandchildren, Austin and Rebecca Burnell,  Suzi,  Zachary, Seth, Savannah,  Skyler, Nicole, Dylan, Haley, Noah, and Sarah Thellman, two brothers,  Michael P. Thellman, Sr. West Mayfield, Henry “Heinie” Thellman, Tampa, Florida, a sister Regina “Jennie” Karczewski, Beaver Falls, several nieces and nephews, and  his miniature Schnauzer Smokey.

        Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Hill & Kunselman Funeral Home, www.hillandkunselman.com., 3801-4th Ave., College Hill, Beaver Falls, and on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m..  There will be a procession from the funeral home  to the Mount Olive Lutheran Church on Friday with the service in church at 11:00 a.m. with his pastor, the Rev. John Pingel officiating.

             Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Big Beaver.
