Robert D. (Bob) Neely, 93, of Columbus, Ohio, formerly of Chippewa Township went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 11, 2009.
Born September 27, 1915 in Beaver Falls, he was the son of David A. Neely and Flora Baker Neely.  He was a life-long member of College Hill Presbyterian Church, and life member of BPOE #348, Beaver Falls.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Eleanor Masal Neely; by two daughters and sons-in-law:  Lana and John Sunner of Longwood, FL and Deborah and Larry Huddleston of Columbus, OH; and four grandchildren:  Susan and Jillian Huddleston, and Robert and Kaitlin Sunner.  He leaves two sisters, Helen Hurley, Beaver Falls and Marlene Padgett, Jacksonville, FL, and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his brother Clyde Neely and his sister Margaret Hineman, both of Beaver Falls.
After 44 years of service, Bob retired from the former Babcock & Wilcox Company in 1977 as Assistant Superintendent of the East Works.
He was a veteran of World War II and recipient of the Purple Heart, serving in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific aboard the USS New Mexico.
Friends will be received Friday, February 20 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Hill and Kunselman Funeral Home, www.hillandkunselman.com, 3801 4th Ave., College Hill, Beaver Falls.  After a private interment Saturday morning at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, there will be a 12 noon memorial service at College Hill Presbyterian Church, 3400 5th Ave. Beaver Falls, the Rev. Dennis Burnett officiating, followed by a reception for family and friends.
