Sarah Breit Scranton McCormick, 86, of Chippewa Township, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2007, in her home.
Born Feb. 28, 1921, in Chippewa Township, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Anna Breit. She had been employed at the former E.C. Wagoner Greenhouse and Smith's Meats, both in Chippewa Township.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Clyde E. Scranton, on May 7, 1969; her second husband, Charles A. McCormick, on May 29, 2005; her daughter, Sally Jean Henderson, in 1997; an infant son, Jay Dean Scranton; two brothers, Daniel and Martin Breit, and five sisters, Anna Breit, Freida Venuck, Minnie Murray, Sue Leroy and Jennie Russell.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Warren and Carol Scranton, College Hill, and Clyde and Cathy Scranton, Naples, Fla.; a daughter and son-in-law, Alice "Sam" and Gary Albitz, East Palestine, Ohio; a stepdaughter, Charlotte Kirchel, New Castle; 11 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the HILL & KUNSELMAN FUNERAL HOME, 3801 Fourth Ave., College Hill, Beaver Falls, where a service will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Randy Clark, pastor of the Union Ridge Bible Baptist Church, officiating.
Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Big Beaver.
