Shirley M. Wachter, 82, of Big Beaver Boro, passed away Friday, July 9, 2010.

Born Sept. 14, 1927, in Fair Oaks, PA, she was a daughter of the late George and Dorothy (Edmundson) Schofield. She was a member of St. Philomena Parish and a 1945 graduate of Leetsdale High School.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph L. Wachter, in 2009; three brothers, Blair, George "Casey", and Roger Schofield; three sisters, Doris Ann Goodwin, Donna and Arthur Kedzierski and Sheron Kay (Sherrie) Bukoskey; a brother-in-law, Norman "Barney" Barnhart; a brother-in-law and wife Frank and Della Wachter, and a sister-in-law and husband Bertha and Joseph Machenstein.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Douglas J. and Sandra A. Wachter, North Jackson, OH; a daughter and son-in-law, Denice A. and Chris Criswell, Rochester, PA; a daughter, Dayna Marie Wachter and Kenneth Berbach Jr., Wampum, PA; two sisters and a brother-in-law, LaRue and Merle Liggett, and Sally Barnhart; sisters-in-law, Jackie Schofield and Betty Ann Schofield and brothers-in-law, Jim Goodwin and Paul Bukowsky.

Friends will be received today from 4 to 8 p.m. in the HILL & KUNSELMAN FUNERAL HOME, www.hillandkunselman.com, 3801 Fourth Ave., College Hill, Beaver Falls, where prayers will be recited Tuesday at 11:50 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 12:30 p.m. in St. Philomena Parish, with Father William J. Schwartz as celebrant.

Entombment will follow in Sylvania Hills Mausoleum, Rochester, PA.
