Vera L. Ruckman Wilkoff, 88, died Friday, August 6, 2010 at Heritage Valley Beaver.
Vera was born on February 1, 1922, in Moundsville, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late William and Edna Yeater Ruckman.  She late moved to Monaca and graduated from Monaca High School.  She had been employed for Bell Telephone Company until she married in 1947. She had been employed for 25 years for the J.C. Penney Company in Beaver Falls.
        Vera was a well read and well informed person who prided herself in knowing about the world and relished learning new ideas and new concepts.  She was always someone who would engage you in conversation and hear all sides of an issue and would be very vocal about her opinions.  She wanted to live long enough to see a woman elected the President of the United States.  When the day comes she will know. 
              She will be sorely missed and thought of by her family and friends with love and affection.
         In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, S. Nelson Wilkoff in 1979, her son William Nelson Wilkoff in 1995, and a brother William Ruckman.
            She leaves to mourn her passing a daughter Nancy Wilkoff Shebish (Jim) of Chippewa Township, her two cherished grandsons, Brett Joseph Shebish of Moon Township, David Nelson Shebish of Beaver Falls, and a great-grandson Jordan Nelson Shebish.
           Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Hill & Kunselman Funeral Home, www.hillandkunselman.com.,  3801-4th Ave., College Hill, Beaver Falls, where a service will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Gregory Cox, pastor of the College Hill United Methodist Church officiating.
          Private interment in the Beaver Falls Cemetery.
       In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, if desired, to the Beaver County Humane Society, P.O. Box 63, Monaca, PA 15061.   Vera loved animals and passed this love on to her family.
