Vincentene "Jans" L. Gioffre, 90, a lifelong resident of Koppel, died on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2007, in the Ellwood City Hospital.

Born Nov. 16, 1917, in Koppel, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Barbara Assini. She was a member of the Queen of Heaven Parish and had retired with over 20 years of service from the former Babcock & Wilcox Tubular Products Co., where she had been a secretary in the Main Office.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph R. Gioffre, on Sept. 9, 1962; two brothers, Philip and John Assini, and three sisters, Dorena Rossi, Angelina Fusco and Mary Nanni.

She is survived by a sister, Edith Sobeck, Chippewa Township; a brother, Anthony Assini, Phoenix, Ariz., and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be no public visitation. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Queen of Heaven Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Joseph Pudichery officiating.

Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Chippewa Township.
