Violet Arlene Russell, 84, formerly of Pittsburgh and Brighton Township, died Monday, March 3, 2008 in Friendship Ridge.

    Born March 12, 1923 in Rochester, she was the daughter of the late Margaret Dobbin Russell.  She graduated with honors from Schenley High School in 1943. 

          She was preceded in death by a son Leonard Russell and a brother Robert Dobbin.

        She is survived by her sister Delaine Krebs, South Beaver Township, a brother Joseph A. Russell, Rochester, two cousins David and William Dobbin, both of California, and several nieces and nephews.

          There will be no public visitation.

         There will be a committal service conducted in the Beaver Cemetery Mausoleum on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. with the Rev. C.F. Hoffman, pastor of the Galilean United Presbyterian Church officiating.

        Interment to follow in the Beaver Cemetery.
