Virginia E. ( Speerhas) McCowin, 81 of Enon Valley know to many as Grandma,  went to be with her Heavenly Father on died Sunday October 18th , 2009.

Born April 14, 1928 in Enon Valley she was the daughter of the late John A. & Edith Emmaline ( Von Berg) Speerhas, she was a member of the Cannelton Baptist Church, Darlington an member of the Arwilda Rebecca Lodge No. 556 and the Past Noble Grand Club.  She loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all others that crossed her path.  God had given her many talents and gifts including the gift of hospitality and the gift of encouragement.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Donald H. McCowin, Dec. 15, 1996, a brother Henry Speerhas; two sisters Gladys Schwamel and Ruth Speerhas, a son-in-law, Mark Koah, three great-grandchildren Derik W.  and Jacob Pieri and Bradley Fezzle.

She is survived by  Three daughters and sons-in-law, Laura E. & Jerry Wade, Darlington; Linda K. McCowin, St. Augustine, FL; and Donna J. & Wilbur Jones, Ellwood City; 6 grandchildren Laurie & Chris Feezle, Kim Bechak, Jason & Melissa Wade, Autumn & Todd Heinz, Heather & Frank Pisano, and Emily & Jeremy Cowin and great-grandchildren.  A sister Sara Straley, Beaver Falls and a brother-in-law Chuck McGaffick, Darlington.

Friends will be Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM in the Hill & Kunselman Funeral Home, www.hillandkunselman.com, 3801-4th Avenue, College Hill, Beaver Falls, PA 15010.  Additional visitation will be Wednesday in the Cannelton Baptist Church, 313 Ridge Road, Darlington, PA  from 10:00AM until time of service at 11:00 AM. With her pastor Rev. Dale Regner, officiating.

Private interment will follow in Little Beaver Cemetery, Enon Valley.
