Wylie Thomas Emerson Graham, 83 , lifelong resident of Dayton, OH, passed away Friday October 8, 2010.
Born March 30, 1927, in Ambridge, PA, he was a son of the late Rev. Dr. Thomas Emerson Graham and Wilba (Barber) Graham. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II as a Corporal. He was a 1944 graduate of Ambridge High School, a 1950 graduate of Geneva College, Beaver Falls, he received his masters’ in Education from Indiana University, and he later did his post graduate studies at Michigan State University. He retired after 40 years from Kettering School District where he taught driver’s education at Fairmont High School and Fairmont West High School. He also taught driver’s education instructors at Wright State University. He was active as a driver’s education instructor and supervisor for the AARP 55 Alive Program in Ohio. He was a life-long Presbyterian and served as an elder at Sugarcreek Presbyterian Church. He attended South Dayton Presbyterian Church before moving to Pittsburgh.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Graham in August of 2006; two brothers, Paul and David Graham.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Bob Barge, Fishers, IN; a son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Scott E.W. Graham and Kristina Woodson-Graham, Beaver, PA; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth, Andrew, Anna and Grace Barge and Jessica Woodson, Emerson and Ian Graham; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Ruth Duncan, Washington, PA and Margie and Roy Blackwood, Indianapolis, IN.
Visitation will be at CUP Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 530 Blackhawk Road, Beaver Falls, PA 15010; on Tuesday, Oct. 12, from 6-8 PM where a memorial service will be held Wednesday, Oct. 13 at 11:00, with his son, Rev. Scott Graham, officiating.
Tentatively an additional memorial service will be held at the South Dayton Presbyterian Church Saturday, Oct. 16.
