Joseph Marchak, 96, of Beaver Falls, died Thursday, September 19, 2019 in Good Samaritan Hospice.

Born February 16, 1923 in Van Voorhis, PA, he was the son of the late Michael and Mary Peles Marchak.  He had been a machinist at Crucible Steel in Midland before his retirement.  He served in the U.S.  Navy during World War II.  Joe was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed gardening.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna F. Walters Marchak in 1998, a grandson, Aaron Joseph Marchak in 2006, four brothers, John, Michael, Andrew, and Adam Marchak, four sisters, Anna Ruff, Frances Marchak, Elizabeth Marchak, and Margaret Tress.

He is survived by three sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert M. and Linda Marchak, Beaver Falls, Richard S. Marchak, Chippewa Township, and Ronald D.  Marchak, Hopewell Township.

Friends will be received Monday from 11 a.m. until the service at 2 p.m. in the Hill and Kunselman Funeral Home, www.hillandkunselman.com, 3801 Fourth Ave., College Hill, Beaver Falls, with Rev. Gregory S. Clagg officiating.  Private burial in Sylvania Hills Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made, if desired, to Wounded Warriors Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS, 66675-8517.

The Veterans Honor Guard will meet at the funeral home on Monday at 1:30 p.m. to conduct military honors.
