Madelyn Pagani, 92, of Koppel passed away Thursday, June 27, 2019 at Good Samaritan Hospice in Beaver.
She was born March 28, 1927 in New Castle, PA to the late Patsy and Victoria (Masters) DeCarbo. Prior to marrying her husband John B. Pagani, who passed away in 1998, she attended Pittsburgh Seamstress and Tailoring School. Madelyn was a member of Holy Redeemer Parish in Ellwood City. She was dedicated to her Catholic faith, volunteering wherever was needed, especially in the kitchen, for the former St. Teresa Catholic Church and Queen of Heaven Parish in Koppel, where she was a member of Christian Mothers. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and sewing.
She was a loving and devoted mother to her three daughters and their spouses, Mary Mudge and James, Brighton Township, Patricia Davison and Gary, Big Beaver Borough and Janet Suarez and Jorge, Brighton Township; Madelyn dearly loved her seven grandchildren, Kathy (Andy) McCormac, Gwendolyn (Shawn) Smith, Amanda Davison, Michelle (Brian) O’Leary, Jon Suarez, Jennifer Mudge and Peter Mudge; her two great-grandchildren, Margaret and Arthur O’Leary and a sister-in-law, Treasa Flamino, New Castle.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Anthony and Nick DeCarbo.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Redeemer Parish, 415 Fourth Street, Ellwood City with Father Mark L. Thomas as Celebrant. Private interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Chippewa Township.
Madelyn’s family deeply appreciates the care and kindness of the staff at Good Samaritan Hospice and the ICU Unit at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, especially Nurse Susan and Dr. Delaney.
