Beaver Falls 

Maria (Louris) Amygdalos, 81, of College Hill, Beaver Falls, died on Friday July 12, 2019.

Born September 17, 1937 in Athens, Greece, she was the daughter of the late Dimitrios and Matina Kapogianatou Louris.     She was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Ambridge.  In Athens Greece she was a very successful beautician before coming to America in 1963 to begin her new life.  She married Andrew Amygdalos and they raised their family here in Beaver County.   She enjoyed writing poetry, watching classic movies, but she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Andrew Amygdalos on May 16, 2018.

She is survived by three children, Dr. Michael A. Amygdalos and his wife Christine, Wyoming, DE, William D. Amygdalos, Elliott City, MD,  Julia Amygdalos Oldenburg and her husband Charles, Peters Township, PA, five grandchildren, Andrew M. Amygdalos, Olivia R. Amygdalos, Maria H. Oldenburg, Sarah E. Oldenburg, Samantha N. Oldenburg, four brothers and sisters -in-law, George and Georgia  Louris, Elias and Irene Louris, Paul and Sophia Louris, all of Greece, Fanourios and Alida Louris, Florida, a sister and brother-in-law, Rose  and Emmanuel Haviaras, Michigan, and numerous nieces and nephews including Julie Finikiotis.

Friends will be received Wednesday in the Hill & Kunselman Funeral Home, 3801 Fourth Ave., College Hill, Beaver Falls, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.   There will be a Trisagion service on Wednesday at 8 p.m. in the funeral home.  The funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 2930 Beaver Road, Ambridge with Father Anastasios Athanasiou officiating.  Interment will follow in the Beaver Falls Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made, if desired, to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 2930 Beaver Road, Ambridge, PA 15003.
