Martha (Steel) McCowin, 91 of Cannelton, died Wednesday September 4, 2019 at Trinity Oaks, Brighton Twp.
Born August 22, 1928 in New Brighton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph E. & Martha (Patterson) Steel. In addition, she was preceded in death by her twin sister, Margaret L. Steel, age 11, and two other siblings, Barbara Lowry and Robert Steel.
She was an LPN at the Medical Center Beaver for 11 years, attended Pathway Church in Chippewa, was a member of T.O.P.S.; after reaching her goal, she became a K.O.P.S. member for 15 years. She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross and also for the Beaver County Contact helpline for 18 years.
Martha is survived by her husband of 71½ years, Jay A. McCowin, and four children: Linda (Ronald) Wiese, Cherry Hill, NJ; Dennis (Lucy) McCowin, Erie, PA; Bruce (Debra) McCowin, Chippewa Twp.; Connie (Damon) Sherrod, Deptford, NJ. Also surviving are seven grandchildren: David, Rhonda, Chandra, Rachel, Jarrod, Amanda, and Brian, as well as ten great-grandchildren: Cora, Emmet, Ellie, Norah, Caleb, Hazel, Judah, Cruz, Vera, and Winnie. She is also survived by a brother, Raymond (Jane) Steel, Hopewell Twp. and a sister-in-law Emma Steel, Darlington.
Friends will be received Friday from 3:00-6:00PM in the Hill & Kunselman Funeral Home, www.hillandkunselman.com, 3801-4th Avenue, Beaver Falls, PA 15010. Additional visitation will be held Saturday morning at Pathway Church, 239 Braun Road, Beaver Falls, PA 15010 at 10:00AM followed by the service at 11:00AM, with Pastor John Westurn officiating.
Private interment will be in Sylvania Hills.
