Phyllis (Eckroate) Majcher, 89, formerly of Chippewa Township, beloved wife of 59 years to the late John Majcher, passed away Monday, December 30, 2019, in Hudson, FL where she resided.
Phyllis was born in Beaver Falls on September 18, 1930, to the late Edward and Marie (Willenbacher) Eckroate. Phyllis attended high school at Mount Gallitzin Academy in Baden. She graduated as a Registered Nurse (RN) from the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill’s Nursing School at Providence Hospital in Beaver Falls. She started her career at Providence Hospital then moved to the Medical Center of Beaver County where she retired after 30 plus years of service. Phyllis was a member of the former St. Philomena Parish. She enjoyed gardening, painting, crocheting, reading, and bowling.
After the death of her husband, she moved to Alexandria, VA to be near her daughter Karen Majcher then moved to Hudson, FL to be near her daughter Barbara (Majcher) Poole.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Majcher on December 10, 2012.
She is survived by her four children and their spouses, John (Kathy) Majcher, OR, Beth (Bob) Stefansic, AZ, Barbara (Rick) Poole, FL and Karen Majcher, VA; four grandchildren, Lauren Poole Gervasio, Michael Poole, and Drew and Rachel Stefansic; a brother Edward Eckroate, AL, and two sisters, Shirley Grundza, Baden and Dorothy Zagorski, Beaver.
\Friends will be received Saturday, January 11th from 9:00 A.M. until the time of a Blessing Service at 11:00 A.M. in the HILL AND KUNSELMAN FUNERAL HOME, www.hillandkunselman.com , 3801 Fourth Avenue, College Hill, Beaver Falls.
Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Chippewa Township.
