Robert John “Bob” Ewanski, 71, of Westfield, New York, passed away in Hamot Medical Center in Erie, PA on Sunday, December 1, 2019.

Born May 23, 1948 in Beaver Falls, he was the son of the late Alexander and Kathryn J. Grabowski Ewanski. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Alexander Ewanski, Jr.

Bob is survived by his sister Alice Fink, affectionately referred to as “Babushka” of Beaver, PA and her husband Richard, two nephews, Adam Fink, Beaver, PA, Lance Fink, Beaver Falls, PA, and a great-nephew, Deklan Sanchez.

Bob was a graduate of Beaver Falls High School, Class of 1966. After high school he joined the U.S. Navy on September 6, 1966 and served as signalman on the USS Oakhill and also the USS Snohomish, and was honorably discharged on May 5, 1972.   He held various jobs throughout his life in lithography printing, logging, and as a truck driver.  Bob was a very unique and independent individual.  He took pride in doing things his own way.  He built a log home in wine country and Fall was his favorite season.  He loved the aroma of grapes in the air at harvest time.  He was a member of the NRA and enjoyed hunting small game and deer in his younger days.

The family would like to thank the staff members who took care of him after his diagnosis of leukemia in October of this year at Hamot Medical Center, Hillman Cancer Center, Encompass Health, both of Erie, PA, Shadyside Hospital, and Edinboro Manor.  Their kindness was greatly appreciated.

As per his wishes, there will be no public visitation.  He will be cremated and laid to rest with his parents in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Beaver Falls, PA.  RIP
