Ronald Albert Ricci, 87, of South Beaver Township, passed away the morning of November 13, 2018 at the Beaver Valley Nursing and Rehab facility in South Beaver.  He was born May 14, 1931, a son of the late Telesforo and Bambina (Carlini) Ricci in New Galilee.  He was a 1950 graduate of Beaver Falls High School.  He married the former Grayce Shephard on June 7, 1952, a marriage which spanned 65 years until her death in 2017.  Early on, he worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad, eventually taking a job at Conway Yard; however, he worked most of his career for Babcock & Wilcox in Beaver Falls and Koppel as a machinist.  Ron was a self-taught carpenter, mechanic, plumber, machinist, electrician and handyman.  He was also an avid cook, gardener, and world-class traveler who loved to dance with his wife, enjoyed learning, and spent free-time watching football and movies.  He was a life-time member of the LMBA Club of New Galilee, the South Beaver Township Democratic committee, and the former Northwestern Country Club.  He was a faithful Roman Catholic by faith, a life-long member of St. Ann and St. Rose Parishes, in which he was actively involved.   He was a big proponent of education and church attendance, and gave back to the community by helping with Meals on Wheels and adult literacy at the Beaver Falls Library, and the Blackhawk FFA’s greenhouse. Most of all, he loved to spend time with his family and friends.  He will be remembered for his almost larger-than-life stories, his fluent Italian, and his unconventional but loving personality.  The family only hopes his wife Grayce is ready to be reunited with him.  In addition to his  parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Grayce (Shephard) Ricci, 2017,  siblings Anthony Ricci, Martha Colaianni, Michael Ricci and Lena Cistolo, and his son Ronald Paul Ricci.  He is survived by a son, Randy (Sally) Ricci of South Beaver Township, and a daughter Tina (Howard) Leslie of Enon Valley, nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces.    Calling hours will be on Thursday, November 15 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Hill & Kunselman Funeral Home, www.hillandkunselman.com, 3801-4th Avenue, Beaver Falls.  A service of witness to the resurrection will be held on Friday, November 16 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Nathan Leslie of Bessemer Presbyterian Church (his grandson) officiating. Words cannot express the family’s gratitude to all the wonderful caregivers at the Beaver Valley Nursing and Rehab facility for their care and devotion in his last days.

Interment will follow in Seceder Cemetery, Darlington.

Regret seeing an old Beaver Falls High School classmate deceased. I really cherished knowing him as a classmate. He added a lot to our high school class. Wise cracking, smiling all the time with a quip for everybody he passed. I always looked forward to that New Galilee bus unloading at the high school and in he came. To the family: you were blessed with a truly great father, grandfather, uncle, etc. Raymond Murphy
