Lorraine Marie Ricci, 64, of New Galilee, PA passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Heritage Valley, Beaver surrounded by family and friends after a bout with multiple cancers.

She was born on August 30, 1954 in Beaver Falls, to the late Antonino (Tony) and Julia (Parmigiani) Ricci. She graduated in 1972 from the former Northwestern High School in Darlington, graduating in the top ten of her class. She was employed as a secretary for 46 years at various schools in the Big Beaver Falls School District with her current assignment at the Big Beaver Elementary School. She was currently treasurer of the Big Beaver Falls PSEA. Other memberships include the Little Beaver Historical Society, 55 Plus Club of Darlington, and the Little Beaver Lioness Club where she looked forward every year to playing Mrs. Santa Claus at their Breakfast with Santa. She was a member of the former St. Ann's Catholic Church in New Galilee and currently attended St. Monica Parish in Chippewa. Lorraine loved children and was loved by all the school children at Big Beaver Elementary School.

She was dearly loved and will be sadly missed by her 2nd and 3rd cousins who thought of Lorraine more as an “Aunt” than just a cousin. Lorraine loved attending family events at the home of her cousins Patty Frischkorn and Anita Hartung where she enjoyed bantering conversations with friend, Paul Rowe. She enjoyed attending the annual St. Monica Parish picnic and other church-sponsored activities. Her other interests include local travels, bus trips, and conversing with her friends, Jodean Brooks, Cindy Evans, Ellie Cockfield, and Barb Frum. Lorraine was a history buff and very knowledgeable in the history of the New Galilee/Darlington/Enon Valley area.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Richard Schaffer.

She is survived by her sister, Loretta Schaffer, Koppel and numerous cousins. The family would like to thank her close friends, Jodean Brooks, Cindy Evans, Ellie Cockfield, Lisa Harrington, Gina Magliocchi, and Barb Frum for their assistance taking Lorraine to her various medical appointments, checking in on her, and most of all their compassion and friendship.

Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. in the HILL AND KUNSELMAN FUNERAL HOME, www.hillandkunselman.com , 3801 Fourth Avenue, College Hill, Beaver Falls, where a Blessing Service will be held Monday at 11:00 A.M. with Father John Naugle.

Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Chippewa Township.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Little Beaver Historical Society, 710 Market Street, Darlington, PA 16115, Carnegie Free Library, 1301 Seventh Avenue or the Little Beaver Lioness Club, 915 37th Street Ext., Beaver Falls, PA 15010

So sorry to hear of Lorraine's passing. I was in her graduating class and remember Lorraine as a sweet, kind, honest, and very smart person. Heaven has gained an angel, and the world lost a bright shining star. My deepest sympathies to her family.
