Alexander V. Guzzetti, 94, of Chippewa Township, died Thursday, December 19, 2019 in his home.
Born July 13, 1925 in Beaver Falls, he was the son of the late Angelo and Anna Cullignan Guzzetti. He was a member of St. Monica Parish, former member of St. Philomena Parish on College Hill, and was a U.S. Army veteran having served during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He retired from the former Babcock & Wilcox Tubular Products Company with over 40 years of service. He was a member of the Men of Melody (a senior singing group) and was in the Senior Golf League at Blackhawk Golf Course. Alex coached youth basketball teams and he was the neighborhood Dad! He was one of the original members of the Book House Gang. He enjoyed volunteering at Old Economy Village, was an avid reader, and was a Civil War buff.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Marcelline “Marcy” L. Guzzetti in 2017, a brother Raymond Guzzetti, and a sister Genevieve Sieg.
He was a dedicated and loving father of six children, Carolyn and James Gadwell, North Carolina, Mary Ann and Dana Norton, North Sewickley Township, Donald and Annamarie Guzzetti, Massachusetts, Thomas and Barbara Guzzetti, East Palestine, Ohio, Cynthia and Allan Ross, Patterson Township, and Richard Guzzetti, Chippewa Township, 13 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Hill & Kunselman Funeral Home, www.hillandkunselman.com., 3801 Fourth Ave., College Hill, Beaver Falls, where prayers will be recited Saturday at 9:20 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Monica Parish with Father Kim J. Schreck as celebrant. Private interment in Grandview Cemetery.

The Veterans Honor Guard will meet at the funeral home on Saturday at 9 a.m. to conduct military honors.
