Anthony F. “Tony” Cantelmi, 92, a lifelong resident of Beaver Falls, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Cambridge Village where he resided.
Tony was a son of the late Panfilo and Helen (Muto) Cantelmi born on April 20, 1929. He graduated from the former St. Fidelis High School Seminary for boys in Butler and Duquesne University, where he received a degree in Education. Tony started his career as a teacher at Beaver High School. Then transferred to Neal Elementary School in Midland where he was a guidance counselor for many years. Later retiring in 1990 as the Athletic Director for Beaver High School.
Anthony was a United States Army veteran having served during the Korean War.
Tony was a member of St. Monica Parish, Chippewa Twp. and the former St. Philomena Parish, College Hill.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 65 years, Frances (Prato) Cantelmi, Beaver Falls; their five children and their spouses, Cecelia Sheridan, Jacksonville, FL, Gregory Cantelmi, New Galilee, Clare Potter (Mark), Alexandria, VA, Christopher Cantelmi (Amanda), Beaver Falls, Elizabeth Trombetta (Vince), Monaca; seven grandchildren, Jason Sheridan (Kasie), Ian Sheridan, Alexis Oetter (Eric), Vanessa Dillon (Elliot), Jordan Trombetta, Anthony Cantelmi, Olivia Cantelmi; a great granddaughter, Evalina; a sister and brother-in-law, Anna Marie Colao (Veto), Beaver Falls; nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Cantelmi, 2006.
Friends will be received Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the HILL AND KUNSELMAN FUNERAL HOME, www.hillandkunselman.com , 3801 Fourth Avenue, Beaver Falls.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Monica Parish, 116 Thorndale Drive, Beaver Falls with Father Kim Schreck as Celebrant. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Chippewa Twp.
The family would like to thank all the wonderful medical professionals that have cared for Anthony. Especially Kindred Hospice and all the staff at Cambridge Village for all their hard work and skilled compassionate care.
