Betty J. Deafenbaugh, 92, of Chippewa Township passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2023.
Betty was born October 14, 1930, in Barnesville, Ohio to the late James L. and Mary Louise (Ackerman) Fisher. She deeply valued her family and took pride in guiding her children and helping them reach their potential. She was a beloved Girl Scout Leader for many years. She helped with 4-H and other organizations her children were involved in. She was a gardener, avid canner and Quilter.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Karl B. Deafenbaugh; two sons, Harold and Lee Deafenbaugh; four brothers, Nelson, Roland, Harold, and John Richard Fisher; and two sons-in-law Joseph Zello and John Means.
Betty is survived by seven children, three sons Ralph (Patricia Muntean) Deafenbaugh, Antwerp NY, Bruce (Andrea) Deafenbaugh, New Waterford OH, and Philip (Michelle) Deafenbaugh of Darlington PA. Four daughters, Linda (John Meikle) Deafenbaugh, Pittsburgh PA, Margaret Wood, South Beaver Twp., Mary Means, Conneaut OH, and Beverly Zello, Conneaut Lake PA. 15 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and great, great grandchildren. Sisters; Ethel Bahmer, Barnesville OH, Blanche Jerig, Zanesville OH, Sally Mehler, Salesville OH and Mary Kay Methena, Helen GA. Along with many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM in the Hill & Kunselman Funeral Home, www.hillandkunselman.com, where a service will be held Friday at 11:00 AM.
Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Big Beaver Boro.
