Brenda (Young) McBryde

 Brenda (Young) McBryde, 65 of Beaver Falls, was called from labor to reward on Sunday, March 5, 2023.   Born July 26, 1957, in Beaver Falls, she was the daughter of the late Rev. John E. Young, Jr.(Bubba) and Gertie Mae (Gardner) Young.

Brenda graduated from the Beaver Falls School District in 1975. She then went to Bradford Business school in Pittsburgh, Pa. She entered the workforce at Logos Bookstore, and then Penn Power Bruce Mansfield Plant. She worked there for 28 years before her illness no longer allowed her to work in that capacity. She then worked at the Driver's license center until she could no longer work because of illness. In 2014, she was honored by her boss for her caring nature and selfless action in One Source magazine.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, whom she married December 9th, 1978, Ronald McBryde, their children Ronda (Brian) Ortiz, Ellwood City;  Ronald B.J. McBryde, Beaver Falls;  and Gerren McBryde, Collingswood, NJ.  Two grandchildren Zara McBryde, Green Bay, WI, and Spencer McBryde, Beaver Falls.  Brother & Sisters Carolyn Young (Herman) Boler, Gayle Young, Candy Young, Deborah Young Hood, Joann Young, Angelia Young Brown, Stephanie Young (Scott) Gibson, Rev. John E. (Shannon)Young III. A brother-in-law, Michael McBryde; A host of nieces and nephews; Godchildren Carl Boler, Zachary Gibson, and Kyle Sheets; and Godmother Ruth (Oliver) Robinson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter Keli McBryde and a son Ronald McBryde Jr. 

She was a member of the Bible Way Church of God in Christ, New Castle where she was a founder of the Women’s Department of the Church, Bibleways’ Book Club, Scholarship Funds,  Deaconess chairperson, member of the Mother’s board, coordinator of the church’s Christmas and Easter Programs, and decorated the church. Her favorite commitment was directing and singing with the Children’s Choir. She also organized two community wide fundraisers for Mr. Doug Frazier and Min. Erik Cook.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at Allegheny General Hospital, Allegheny Hospital (Natrona Heights), and Mykel Sheets for their care and compassion during her most critical time. 

Friends will be received Monday, March 13, from 2:00-6:00 PM, in the Hill & Kunselman Funeral Home, 3801-4th Avenue, Beaver Falls, PA. www.hillandkunselman.com.   Memorial service will be held Monday at 7:00PM in the Holy Spirit Fellowship Church, New Brighton.

Additional visitation will be held Tuesday, March 14, from 9:00 AM until the time of Homegoing services at 10:00 AM in the Bible Way Church of God in Christ, 125 N. Crawford Avenue, New Castle, PA; with her brother the Rev. John E. Young, III officiating.
