C. Terry Thorne, 80, of Chippewa Twp. passed away Wednesday evening, January 6, 2021. Terry was a humble man that loved and served God. 1 Peter 5:7
Terry was born on October 18, 1940 in New Brighton to the late Charles and Thurza (Hardy) Thorne. He graduated from New Brighton High School in 1959 and was a Vietnam era veteran of the United States Navy stationed in Spain. Terry retired from Babcock and Wilcox and Koppel Steel in Ambridge and was a member of Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Chippewa and attended Beaver Alliance Church.
Terry had the privilege of serving for many years as the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) convention photographer, where he photographed President & Mrs. Reagan, President & Mrs. Bush, and many other notables.
While serving at the NRB, his greatest honor was meeting Billy Graham and received an autographed Bible from him.
Terry travelled to Zaire, Africa where he was instrumental in helping to secure funding for the International Christian University of Zaire, ensuring the African students would receive a solid Biblical foundation as they pursued their collegiate studies.
His musical talents including playing the organ, guitar, and mandolin, but his greatest passion has always been photography.
He is survived by his wife loving wife of 47 years, Connie (Russell) Thorne, Chippewa Twp.; two daughters, Kellie (Mike) McGee, King, NC and Leanne (Andy) Huzyak, Chippewa Twp.; two granddaughters, Charly Paige and Abby Thorne Huzyak; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Roberta and James Zeigler, New Brighton; two nieces, Kristen (Paul) Kaseman, New Brighton and Lisa (Nathan) Barber, Grove City and a nephew, James (Amy) Ziegler, Cranberry Twp.
Friends will be received Sunday from 12 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the HILL AND KUNSELMAN FUNERAL HOME, www.hillandkunselman.com , 3801 Fourth Avenue, College Hill, Beaver Falls. The funeral service will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Beaver Alliance Church, Pastor Roland Gray will officiate.
Interment will follow in Beaver Cemetery.
