Claire (Zeigler) Mervis, 98, formerly of Patterson Heights, died February 23, 2023 in Mountain Brook, Alabama.
Born December 11, 1924 in Sharon, PA , was the daughter of the late Frank and Dora ( Bearman) Zeigler.
She along with her late husband Maurice Mervis, owned Mervis Professional Pharmacy in Beaver Falls. She was a 1982 graduate of Geneva College.
Claire was a kind and loving wife, mother, and friend. She participated in numerous civic organizations including the Public Library board, the Area on Aging, Outlook Club and AAUW.
As a piano teacher and lover of music, she had a special place in her heart for the Community Concert Series to bring the experience to others.
Her optimism and love of people defined her and enriched the lives of all who knew her.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Maurice Mervis, Aug. 15, 2016, sisters, Rhea Rossman and Betty Gross, and brothers, Charles Zeigler, Seibert Zeigler, and Allan Zeigler.
She is survived by her children, Linda Levin, Eileen & Robert Cohn and Alex Mervis. Loving grandchildren, Stacy, Dana, Philip, Abbey, and great grandchildren, Myer, Emmett, Lielle, James, Blake Amelia, and Chase.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, March 1 at 12:00 PM at Tifereth Israel Cemetery, 340 Maple Drive, New Castle, PA 16105.
