Daniel L. Barkey

Daniel L. Barkey, 84 of Big Beaver Boro, died Saturday October 14, 2023.

Born March 8, 1939, in Evans City, PA was the son of the late Henry D. & Blanche (Potts) Barkey.

He was a US Navy Veteran, retired from EQS Company after 11 years of service as a Millwright and Welder, previously to that he worked at Babcock & Wilcox Tubular Products for 28 Years.

Dan had deep faith in God and attended College Hill Church of the Nazarene.  He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and hunting and was an avid Steeler’s fan and was very proud of his grandchildren.

Dan is survived by his wife of 61 years Rhetta (Gishbaugher) Barkey; Two children and their spouses Lynette Connelly & Connie Sgarlata, New Windsor, MD and Daniel L & Jennifer Barkey, Delmont, PA. Five grandchildren Zachary Connelly; Matthew Connelly; Evan Sgarlata; Rachel Barkey and Hannah (Sean) Barkey-Doyle.  He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews and his golfing buddies.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eight siblings, and several beloved nieces and nephews as well as his best friend since he was 15 years old, Tim Small.

Friends will be received Thursday from 4:00  PM until time of service at 6:00 PM in the Hill & Kunselman Funeral Home, www.hillandkunselman.com, 3801-4th Avenue, Beaver Falls, PA 15010, with the Pastor Joe Schiren officiating.

Private interment will be in Grandview Cemetery, Big Beaver Boro.
