Darlene George Obituary

Darlene George, 84, of Chippewa Township, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at Elmcroft of Chippewa.

Mom was born October 14, 1935 to the late Ruth Lane Fleeson and Edgar Lane. She was a lifelong resident of the Beaver Falls area, having raised her family in Chippewa with her late husband, Edward George, who passed away in 1986.

She retired in 1998 as a secretary for the Blackhawk School District. Mom was an active member of the former St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Beaver Falls serving on their Ladies Guild. Later she attended Trinity Episcopal Church in Beaver.

She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. She was a kind and loving mother to her three children and their spouses, Cindy and Don Kester, Ted and Diane George and Jonathan and Vickie George; her two cherished grandchildren Jennifer George and Christopher (Abbie) George; two sisters, Susan Lansberry and Kathie Roush; a sister-in-law, Marie Skillinger and many beloved nieces and nephews and life-long friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Edgar Lane; a step-father, Alfred Fleeson and a step-mother, Martha Lane.

We are greatly saddened that there was no visitation and that the funeral services were private, due to the current precautions for social interaction and contact.

Our family is very grateful to Elmcroft Senior Living of Chippewa for doing an excellent job of caring for our mother over the last six years.

In loving memory of our mother, we ask that donations be made to Gateway Hospice, 9380 McKnight Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15237, for providing kind and loving care for our Mom over the last two years.

Thanks also to HILL AND KUNSELMAN FUNERAL HOME, www.hillandkunselman.com , and Reverend Carl Neely for their services rendered amidst the current social crisis.
