David Robert Bell, 73, of Chippewa Township and formerly of Freedom, passed away on Sunday, February 7th, 2021. He was born April 24, 1947 and was the son of the late Robert C. & Doris J. (Hazenstab) Bell. He was a proud graduate of Penn State University.
He retired from the Big Beaver Falls Area School District after 33 years of service as a beloved Elementary Teacher. He worked for the family business, Machine Shop Service, Inc in Rochester along side his Dad. David was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates and Steeler fan. He was proud to be at the 1960 World Series, Game 7 to witness Bill Mazeroski’s winning ninth-inning home run. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 47 years Sharon (Corcoran) Bell, whom he married June 15, 1973 and his pride and joy, his children, daughter Alison Bell St. John and her husband Brian St. John, Fredrick, MD and son and daughter-in-law Brian and Shanna Bell, Chambersburg, PA. His greatest joy in life is when he became a Pappy to three little granddaughters Claire St. John, Julie and Ruby Bell. He is also survived by a brother Jeffrey Bell & Kamilla, VA; a sister Barbara & Rev. Robert Martin, OH and their children Elizabeth & Adam Rauscher, and Benjamín Martin; Brother-in-law Joe & Becky Corcoran, their children Ryan & Alec Corcoran; and numerous relatives and dear friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Richard Bell and his best friend and beloved dog Murdock, his walking buddy.
Friends will be received Thursday from 2-4 PM & 6-8 PM in the Hill & Kunselman Funeral Home, www.hillandkunselman.com, 3801-4th Avenue, Beaver Falls, PA where prayers will be recited Friday at 9:15 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM at St. Felix Roman Catholic Church, 450 13th Street, Freedom, PA 15042.
Private interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Chippewa Township.
