David Huffman Obituary

David C. Huffman, 75 of South Beaver Township and formerly of Homewood Borough died Tuesday February 9, 2021 in Select Specialty Hospital McKeesport. Born March 21, 1945 in Big Beaver he  was the son of late Wilbert & Martha (Stanyard) Huffman. A veteran of the United States Army he proudly served his country with honor and distinction in the 552nd Military Police Company during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Babcock & Wilcox Tubular in 1987. He started his career in law enforcement in 1972 as a parttime police officer with the Big Beaver Police Department ending as the Police Chief. When the department disbanded in 2000 and contracted police service with the Chippewa Township, he was named sergeant finishing his 46 years of law enforcement service retiring in 2017. David was a member of the Meridian Lodge No. 411 Enon Valley, Scottish Rite Valley of New Castle Consistory. Highland VFW; the American Legion; and a former member of the Homewood Volunteer Fire Department. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed fishing, boating, and camping. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Susan (Casciato) Huffman; a son and daughter-in-law David & Chrystal Huffman of Homewood; a daughter and son-in-law Kristin Huffman & Aaron King of Homewood; 4 grandchildren Tyler Huffman & April Deacon; Brendan Long & Sierra Nicole Martin; Nathan Huffman and Reina King. And a great granddaughter Aurora Long. Sister Helen Jane Tanner Shenango Twp.; a brother Donald Huffman of Wampum; four sister in-laws Patricia Huffman, Linda Huffman, Judi & Franco Bach; Kathy Cook & Fred Jenkins; and brother in-law Michael Casciato and his beloved dog and buddy Alex. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers Wilbert and Robert Huffman; his in-laws Armand & Thelma Casciato and a brother in-law Lynn Tanner.

Friends will be received Saturday from 2 PM until time of service at 8 PM in the Hill & Kunselman Funeral Home, www.hillandkunselman.com, 3801-4th Avenue, Beaver Falls, PA.
