Dolores "Jean" Lester Obituary

“Our greatest endeavor on earth is to bring glory to the Lord”.  These were the words of (and certainly lived by), Dolores “Jean” Lester, 90.

Surrounded by her loved ones, Jean went to be with her Savior on January 11, 2020. The family rejoices in knowing that she has been reunited with her beloved granddaughter,  Jennifer Lynn Lester Luffy.  In addition, she was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond & Florence (Whisler) Senior, as well as her brother, Thomas Senior.

Jean was born March 31, 1929 and was a lifetime resident of Beaver County. Jean accepted the Lord as her personal Savior at the age of 13 and has trusted the Lord to be her Guide ever since.  Her glow from the love of Jesus shined through her in all she did!

While Jean attended a Youth for Christ picnic, Jean met the love of her life, Jim Lester in 1947.  The two fell in love and married in 1952.  Their commitment to one another has always been a wonderful example to their children, Jim & Sherry Lester, Glenn & Brenda Lester, Debbie & Scott Walsh, and Brenda & Randy Hanshe.  Their love has inspired their grandchildren, which then lives on through their 19 great grandchildren. Their grandchildren and spouses include Geneva & Sagar Nagilla, Von & Molly Lester, Dan Luffy, Glenn & Allie Lester, Bradley & Michelle Lester, Jacque & Bruce Cunning, Devin & Brittany Walsh, Dylan & Nicole Walsh, Kyla & Chris Lindner, and Troy & Aly Hanshe.

Other surviving loved ones include sister Ruth Russell, brother Raymond “Ken” Senior, sister Carol Vogler, sister-in-law Miriam Senior and numerous nieces & nephews who loved and adored their Aunt Jean.

Jean was a faithful member of the Chippewa Alliance Church for most of her life. Also, she was the last charter member and for decades an inspiration to many at the Ostomy Support Group of Beaver County. It suited her servant heart. In 2017 Jean was recognized for her dedication to the group, celebrating 45 years.

Jean will be missed by many. Her legacy lives on!  Please join us in celebrating her God glorifying life!
