Doris Ellen Sherman, 92, of South Beaver Township, PA, passed away on Friday, November 15, 2019.

Doris was born on September 30, 1927, the daughter of the late Vern D. and Ada Warner Sherman.  She was a member of CUP Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Chippewa Township.  Doris graduated from Beaver High School, Slippery Rock College, and the University of Pittsburgh.  Doris had a long teaching career, which included teaching positions in Butler County, Key West Florida, and the Ambridge High School in Ambridge, PA.  She also had extended studies in Spain and England.  Doris was a member of the Pennsylvania Association of Retired Teacher and the Daughters of the American Revolution.  She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, and reading.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Kenneth Hall and a nephew, Edwin Sherman.

She is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Donald W. and Dorothy Sherman, South Beaver Township, a sister, Catherine Sherman Hall, Haines City, Florida, two nephews, Joel Sherman and his wife Lorraine, South Beaver Township, Dwight Hall, LaPlata, Maryland, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 from 2 p.m. until the service at 4 p.m. in the Hill & Kunselman Funeral Home, www.hillandkunselman.com, 3801 Fourth Ave., College Hill, Beaver Falls. Her pastor, Rev. Scott Graham will officiate.  Private interment in Highland Cemetery, Ohioville, PA.
