Edward Murphy Obituary

Edward Murphy, 91, of Chippewa Township, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2020, at Elmcroft of Chippewa.

Ed was born on December 29, 1928, in Beaver Falls, to the late James Lee and Mary (McQuillin) Murphy. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean War. He worked for Armstrong for 20 years, Babcock and Wilcox Tubular Products for 20 years, and the Laborer's Union #833 doing construction for 5 years until his retirement.

Ed was a member of St. Monica Parish, Chippewa Twp., formerly Christ the Divine Teacher. He enjoyed traveling, camping and hunting.

Surviving is his wife of 66 years, Norma (Winkler) Murphy, whom he married on July 10, 1954, she resided with him at Elmcroft; three daughters, Cynthia Hall, Mesa, Ariz.; Nancy Udstuen, Spanaway, Wash.; and Sally and Kraig Diehl, Chippewa Twp.; eight grandchildren, Jessica Cramer, Jennifer Murphy, Danielle Sweet, Alexis and Erik Udstuen, and Russell, Rachel and Roger Diehl; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ray Murphy, Greenville, S.C.

Ed was preceded in death by an infant granddaughter, Heather Murphy, and five brothers and a sister, William Paul "Jack" Murphy, Lawrence "Art" Murphy, Norman Murphy, James Murphy, George Murphy and Ruth Thompson.

Friends will be received Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the HILL & KUNSELMAN FUNERAL HOME, www.hillandkunselman.com, 3801 Fourth Ave., College Hill, Beaver Falls, where prayers will be recited Saturday at 9:20 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. Monica Parish, 116 Thorndale Drive, Beaver Falls, with Father Bill Schwartz as Celebrant.

Private entombment will be in Beaver Falls Cemetery Mausoleum.

Everyone is required to wear a mask during the visitation at the funeral home and at the funeral Mass at church.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Edward Murphy to the Beaver County Humane Society, 3394 Brodhead Road, Aliquippa, PA 15001.
