Poindexter III and Tom Poindexter, both of Austin, TX, Todd Poindexter, West Palm Beach, FL, Stacy Poindexter, Houston, TX and Chandra Alderette, Woodlands, TX.
In addition to the infant daughter, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Barry Alderette and a sister, Beverly Poindexter.
Brian was a lifelong resident of Beaver Falls knowing many people due to his outgoing personality, his father having many businesses in Beaver Falls, and his younger brother, Barry being the Mayor of Beaver Falls in the 1970’s. “His blood ran Beaver Falls through and through.”
Growing up a proud member of the “20th Street River Rats” (a local group of neighborhood friends) that later provided a scholarship to graduating seniors of Beaver Falls High School.
After graduating high school in 1947 Brian enlisted in the newly formed United States Air Force during the Korean War. He came home after 4 years and met his wife to be, Janice Rhodes and settled in Beaver Falls for the remainder of his life. After serving his country he worked for Republic Steel (later LTV Steel) for more than 35 years, beginning as a security guard and working his way up to personnel manager.
Due to his outgoing personality, he will be remembered fondly by his peers, and his children's friends, some of whom still send him Christmas cards from around the country and would stop by to visit he and Janice decades after moving out of the state. They would just drop by unannounced to visit and were always warmly welcomed by Brian and Janice, who loved to chat with them as if they had only been gone since yesterday.
Brian will be remembered by his passion for Family, People, Church, and Clubs. He loved volunteering time with his church, Steffin Hill Presbyterian Church, where he was an Elder for over 50 years. Was active in the Optimus Club in the 1960’s, and a member of the Beaver Falls Lions Club up until his death, where at one time he was President.

Brian will be remembered by his five children as a very devoted father who always took the time and resources to help his kids achieve whatever they wanted. It was that dedication that extended seamlessly to his grandchildren as well. It was just taken for granted that he would be there for us all…a common trait for that generation! He will be sadly missed but never forgotten.
The Alderette family would like to thank the Staff and Hospice at Providence Health Care Center for their wonderful compassionate care. Also, Scott Rodenbeck who would take time from his busy schedule and family to help with yard work.
In lieu of cards and flowers, donations may be sent to “20th Street River Rats Scholarship”, Beaver Falls High School, 1503 8th Avenue, Beaver Falls, PA 15010
Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the HILL AND KUNSELMAN FUNERAL HOME, www.hillandkunselman.com , 3801 Fourth Avenue, Beaver Falls, where a service will be held Thursday at 12 Noon.
