Esther (Duncan) Taylor, 84, of North Sewickley Township peacefully departed this life Friday November 11, 2022.
Born May 2, 1938, in Monaca, she was the loving daughter of the late Samuel Edwin & Ruth Ida Marie (Miller) Duncan.
Esther was a beloved member of Concord United Methodist Church where she deeply desired to see the Holy Spirit working to touch many children’s lives through youth programs, missionary works and as a Sunday School Teacher for 40 years. She was a teacher at heart as she also taught Adult Sunday Classes, a majorette group, taking them to many parades in the area, and started the Midget and Mighty Mite Cheerleading program at Riverside School District. Esther’s talents were many, enjoying painting, flower arranging and crafts.
Esther was a kind, caring person who opened her heart to anyone in need. She was known for her beautiful Rose gardens and stylish hats. Most of all, her passion was her love for children; if there was a child in the room, the adults just did not exist.
Esther’s beautiful life will forever be cherished by her husband, William Blake Taylor Sr., with whom she shared love and laughter for 65 years. They met and became instant sweethearts while attending Geneva College. Together they raised a wonderful family including five loving children; William Blake, Jr. (Robin) Taylor, Enon Valley; Sally Ann (David) Fornataro, Ellwood City; Robert Earl Taylor, Fox Lake, IL; Cindy Lou (Joseph) Nardone, Brighton Township; and Tracey Doreen Taylor, Birmingham, AL. Eleven Grandchildren Cody Taylor, Brandi (Jonathan) Wright, Chris (Abbie) Fornataro, Rachel (Brent) Courville, Blake Taylor, Devin Taylor, Brook Taylor, Evan (Ashely) Nardone, Samantha (Rob) Daniels, Jacob (Jessica) Nardone, and Roman Nardone. A grandchild in heart Christian Cater. Nine precious Great Grandchildren; Bentley and Taylor Wright, Luca and Liliana Fornataro, Ellis and Blake Courville, Enzo, Myla, and Zola Nardone. A brother Thomas (Judith) Duncan; sister-in-law Georgene Duncan; and so many devoted nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, friends, and church family members.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a great granddaughter Marcella Grace Courville and five siblings Donald Duncan, Marianne Swogger, Eleanor Spagnoli, Walter Duncan, and James Duncan.
